Dear Sunshine Families, Last week: We had a lot of fun driving cars and trucks through mud, making tire tracks and building roads and ramps in class. We also had butterflies emerge from their cocoons; we observed them throughout the week and let the free on Thursday and Friday. This week: We are moving on to Wild Animals! Each child brought home a paper with the name of the animal they chose. They can find a picture and 2 facts to share with the class. We will do animal presentations on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. If you child didn’t bring an animal choice home they are welcome to chose any wild animal to do their report on. Suessical Jr.: We will not be in class on Tuesday. This is the day we will be attending Seussicll Jr, at Fort Vancouver High School. We will meet there at 9:15 for the morning performance and at 11:30 for the afternoon performance. If you have not yet paid for your play tickets please do so ASAP! Volunteer Hours: A big thanks to everyone that participated in playground cleanup, the playground looks wonderful! We have a full sandbox, the shrubs have all been trimmed back, pine cones were picked up and broken toys were thrown away. This was our last big volunteer opportunity, thanks for all the work you have done this year to keep our school running smoothly! Family Fun Night: Our last family fun night is this week Thursday May 21st from 5:30-7:00. Join us as we explore the worlds of Math and Science. We will have many hands on projects to do and a couple fun take home projects. Family fun nights are free and friends are welcome! Summer Camps: Little Acorn runs a couple fantastic summer camps in July! This year we will have Knights and Princess’s the week of July 13-17 and Superhero’s the week of July 20-24. Come to one or com to both; it’s a great way to keep your kids busy this summer! Registration packets are available in Katie’s office! All School Picnic: Our two last days in class are June 8th and 9th. On June 10th we will meet at Felida Park for an all school picnic. We will bbq hotdogs provided by the school and will have a potluck sign up out for side dishes and drinks. Kids are welcome to bring Frisbees, bikes, and scooters (along with helmets) and we will spend our last morning together at the park! Word Wall: The letter this week is ‘W’. Kids can bring in things that begin with the letter ‘W’.
