Feb 3-7

Dear Sunshine Families, This week we will transition from winter animals to nocturnal animals. We will focus on raccoons but will also take about other types of nocturnal animals. We will talk about what it means to be nocturnal, where nocturnal animals live and the ways they are similar and different fromm day time animals. Art: The kids will make kissing hand cards, cute raccoon projects and begin working on valentine projects Literacy: We will read The Kissing Hand, The Goodnight Kiss and Nocturnal Animals Social/Emotional: This time of year we like to talk about friends and family; those that we love and the ways we show love. We will do a writing project about the people we love. Math/Science: We will make kissing hand cookies Monday and Tuesday :) Extras: If you haven't done so yet please pay for your play tickets as soon as possible! This is the time of year that we begin planning for auction. As a class we will put together an auction basket; if you have any fun ideas for a themed basket let me know. Also; if you can help us make sign-up sheets, put together a basket, acquire donations or have any other way to help with auction let us know!
