Dear Sunshine Families, Due to the threat of freezing rain Vancouver School District has called a no school day for tomorrow Monday February 10th so we will not have class either. I hope everyone has enjoyed the time at home and has stayed safe in this winter weather! This week we will celebrate Valentine's Day on Thursday and Friday. Since we are unable to have our party on Monday we will still have each child's Valentine's Bag out and we will fill them with Valentine treats. Whatever day your child comes they can take their bag of goodies home. Wednesday we will not be in class; we will meet at The Northwest Children's Theatre at 9:15 for our 9:45 performance of Goodnight Moon. They will begin seating us at 9:30; the show is about 1 and 1/2 hours with a short intermission. Parking is very limited so if you are able I recommend carpooling. Art: We will make heart caterpillars. Social/Emotional: The kids will deliver their Valentine cards to their friends and on Wed we will enjoy Goodnight Moon together. Literacy: We will read Goodnight Moon and Clifford's Valentine Extras: The sunshine class is in charge of the upcoming family night, being held Feb 28th. We will be celebrating Dr. Seuss's birthday with some games, crafts and a dance party! We are looking for volunteers to help us with this night; we need some help with cupcake donations, prepping craft projects and decorations. Let me know if you can help in any way! It'll be a great way to get some volunteer hours in.
