Jan 6-10

Dear Sunshine families,

Welcome back! I hope everyone enjoyed their 2 weeks and were able to

relax and enjoy family. I am sure the kids are all ready to get back to

school and routine, I know I am!

This week we will talk about winter. We will paint with ice and create

snowy scenes. We will also experiment with melting ice with sea salt.

 

Social/Emotional- We will have a snowflake station this week. The kids will use their fine motor skills to cut and create snowflakes.

Art- We will make paint with our ice paint, make snowy scenes and cut snowflakes.

Literacy- This week we will read: Snow Day, A very special Snowflake and Footprints in the snow.

Math/science: The kids will help us make ice paint and use sea salt to melt ice.

Extras:   

Inclement weather policy: If Vancouver School districts are closed or have a 2-hour late start we will not have class. If you are ever not sure you can call the preschool office and a recording stating that we are closed will be posted. I also try to email families as soon as I know if school is canceled.

       

In February we will take a field trip to see a play by the Northwest Children's Theatre. On February 12th we will not be in class and as a school attend this fun play! I will have a sign up out this week so we can get an idea of how many will attend.
