Dec 2-6

Dear Sunshine families,     

I hope everyone had a great break full of family and relaxation! We have 3 more weeks in class before the Christmas break and I am looking forward to celebrating the season with the kids. We will be practicing for our winter concert, decorating the classroom and working on secret gifts.

Social/Emotional- This week  we will begin working on secret gifts in class for families ;)

Art- We will be making secret gifts; stained glass trees, a snowflake collage.

Literacy- This week we will read: Snowmen at Night, Snowflake and On a winter's Day

Math/science: We will make snow in the sensory table!

Extras:   

Santa breakfast is coming on  Saturday, Dec 7th. At this point interest is low; if you are thinking of attending this event plan on purchasing tickets this week.

        Mark your Calendars for the evening of December 11th at 6:00pm as we present our winter concert to families. The Sunshine Class will be joining with the Busy Bee and Dragonfly classes on this night. We’ll be singing winter/holiday songs for your enjoyment and then afterward the scholastic book fair will be open for book buying. This is a fun night so be sure and plan to come.       

 

In February we will take a field trip to see a play by the Northwest Children's Theatre. On February 13th we will not be in class and as a school attend this fun play! I will have a sign up out this week so we can get an idea of how many will attend.
