Dear Sunshine families,
Time is going by
so quickly! I can't believe we only have 2 weeks in class before winter break.
We will be very busy in class finishing up projects and getting ready for
Winter Concert.
Our concert is this Wednesday at 6:00. Kids can be dropped off
in the Sunshine Class at 5:45, please make sure they have used the restroom as
we don't have much time to stop for that. After kids have been dropped off
families will head up to the Sanctuary.
We will bring the kids up to perform and after the concert we will
release them to you and sit together for a slide show.
Social/Emotional- This week
we will continue working on secret gifts in class for families and
practicing onstage for our winter concert.
Art- We will be making secret
gifts; tree collages and cinnamon ornaments.
Literacy- This week we will read: Snow What Fun, The Biggest
Best Snowman and Santa's Secret helper
Math/science: We will have the light table in our room for the
next two weeks. The kids323q love looking at different objects on the table and
building with colorful magnet pieces
Extras:
With last week's wintery weather I thought I'd remind everyone
of our inclement weather policy. If Vancouver School districts are closed or
have a 2-hour late start we will not have class. If you are ever not sure you
can call the preschool office and a recording stating that we are closed will
be posted. I also try to email families as soon as I know if school is
canceled.
Mark your
Calendars for the evening of December 11th at 6:00pm as we
present our winter concert to families. The Sunshine Class will be joining with
the Busy Bee and Dragonfly classes on this night. We’ll be singing
winter/holiday songs for your enjoyment and then afterward the scholastic book
fair will be open for book buying. This is a fun night so be sure and plan to
come.
In February we will take a field trip to see a play by the
Northwest Children's Theatre. On February 12th we will not be in class and as a
school attend this fun play! I will have a sign up out this week so we can get
an idea of how many will attend.
