Dear Sunshine Families, I am sending out this week's newsletter early because I will be out of town this weekend. I hope you all had a safe and fun Halloween! Don't forget this weekend is daylight savings, set your clocks back an hour and take advantage of the extra time. Last Week: The week was so busy, we worked very hard on assessments. The kids did great and were so excited to work on tracing, cutting and shapes recognition. I am so excited to share all of this and other great work we are doing in class during conferences. Our class parties were great! It was so fun to see everyone dressed up. They had a great time parading through the school. This week: We will finish up our pumpkin print paintings and create spiders! We will also do our marble paint project since we did not get to it last week. Since we only have 3 days in class we will focus on finishing up our October/Fall Units. The following weeks we will start talking about Being Thankful, Friends and Families. Conferences: Conferences are being held this week; I am able to do some after class Tuesday and Wednesday. Thursday we will not have class and will spend the day doing conferences. If you haven't had a chance to sign up the sheet is still out in the hall. Friday we will not have class as the church has an event in the church. Family Fun Night: Our fist family fun night is coming up on November 20th. We will host a make and take holiday craft night. This was so much fun last year and a great way to get in the holiday spirit. This is also a great opportunity to get some volunteer hours. We may have some prep work that can be done at home so If you are interested in helping out that way, let me know. They will also be help needed to set up and take down the night of the event. Word Wall: The letter this week is "G". Kids can bring anything starting with the letter "G"!
