week of Oct 21-25

Dear Sunshine families,     

I hope everyone that made it to Bizi Farms had fun; the weather was great! We will bring our experience at the farm to the classroom. We have pumpkins to cut open and explore and we will do some farm art activities.

Social/Emotional- We will visit Kindred this week on Wed and Thur. The kids will have an opportunity to decorate cards to hand out to the grandma's  and grandpa's.

Art- The kids will make their own red barns; we will also make stained glass pumpkins for the windows.

Math/Science- We have 2 classroom pumpkins. One of them will get cut open; cleaned out and carved, The other one we will decide as a class what we will do with.

Literacy- This week we will read; The Big Red Barn, Mrs. Wishy Washy's farm and Marley and the Runaway Pumpkin.

 

Extras:

I hope everyone will join us next Tuesday from 5:30-6:30. We will have our annual Halloween Read-in upstairs in Jason Lee hall. Kids can wear costumes; we will have a costume contest, and read fall stories together. It's a great family event and another excuse to wear costumes!
